Saudi Youth Build Careers From Automotive Passion

A growing number of young Saudis are turning their passion for cars into professional careers, taking advantage of specialized study programs and training tracks available inside the Kingdom in automotive mechanics, electrical systems and advanced vehicle technologies.

The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) offers a mechanical technology pathway covering automotive mechanics and electrical systems. Students can earn a secondary diploma through industrial secondary institutes and prison training institutes, then move on to an intermediate diploma at technical colleges, where graduates of the first stage receive priority admission. The programs combine theoretical and practical training aimed at direct employment in the automotive sector after graduation.

Specialized academies and apprenticeships

The National Automotive and Vehicles Academy (NAVA) prepares Saudi youth for careers in the Kingdom's emerging automotive and mobility sector, including manufacturing and advanced vehicle technologies. Applicants must be Saudi nationals aged 18 to 25, enrolled in or holding a relevant diploma from a TVTC institute, with a minimum of 50% in both the Qudrat and Tahseel exams. Admissions for the 2024 cohort are closed, with registration scheduled for a 2025 intake announced through NAVA's official channels.

Juffali Automotive Company runs the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Program for Saudi males aged 18 to 22. The two-year, fully sponsored "earn while you learn" program combines classroom teaching at the Juffali Training Center with hands-on training at official Mercedes-Benz service centers in الرياض and جدة. Graduates are guaranteed full-time roles as certified passenger car technicians within the dealer network.

On the motorsport side, the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) offers youth initiatives that turn racing passion into professional tracks. The Saudi Young Stars Karting Programme targets children aged 6 to 12 with karting skills and introductory motorsport know-how, while the Saudi Next Gen Program identifies and develops young rally-raid talent with Dakar-level preparation.

Together, these pathways give Saudi youth practical routes into a fast-growing local industry, supporting both employment and the Kingdom's expanding automotive and mobility ambitions.
