Six Water-Industry Projects Enter Phase, SAR 2.8B

Six Saudi water-industry investment opportunities entered the industrial implementation phase on 2 September 2026, with total investments of approximately SAR 2.8 billion and covering seven factories.

The move was carried out through three industrial-localization agreements and the inauguration of two factories. The opportunities form part of a wider program run by the Saudi Water Authority to localize 18 components used in the water industry, aiming to build domestic manufacturing capacity across the sector.

Expected economic impact

By 2033, the projects are expected to contribute around SAR 4.36 billion to the national economy and to create approximately 3,090 direct and indirect specialized engineering and technical jobs. Estimated domestic demand for the targeted products is placed at about SAR 11.37 billion.

The initiative also targets a cost reduction of between 20% and 30% for the localized products, while setting an export goal of 20% to 50% of production, depending on each product and external demand.

For residents and expats working in engineering, technical and industrial fields, the plan signals continued expansion of specialized job opportunities and local manufacturing.
