Saudi Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal has approved the formation of the board of directors of the Saudi Arabian Sport Culture Federation (SSCF) for a new term running from 2025 to 2028. The board will be chaired by Suleiman bin Omar Al-Jalaoud as president.
The approved board members include Mohammed bin Saad Al-Dossary, Asaad Arefah, Nawal Abdullah Al-Issa, Abdulazim Saud Al-Otaibi, Waad Abdullah Al-Fawaz, and Mohammed Saleh Al-Sulaiman.
The SSCF is a national sports federation operating under the Ministry of Sport and the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee. It was established in 2021 during the 2021-2024 electoral cycle. Its mandate focuses on promoting sports culture, raising awareness of the value and importance of sport, and supporting events and programs that encourage wider participation and improve quality of life in line with رؤية السعودية 2030.
Why it matters
The federation organizes the International Conference and Exhibition of Sports Culture in الرياض, with registration and participation handled through its official conference portal. Details such as participation fees are managed through that portal.
Under the Saudi Sports Law, the formation and approval of sports federation boards require a formal ministerial decision. Every sports entity must have a general assembly, a board of directors, and an executive management or general secretariat, with the board meeting at least four times The appointment of a new leadership team reinforces the governance framework guiding Saudi sports bodies as the Kingdom continues to expand its sports sector.
