Taif Camel Festival Trophy Races Set for Sept 2026

The eighth Crown Prince Camel Festival will open its first trophy races on Saturday, September 6, 2026, at the historic Taif Camel Racing Track. The concluding evening session alone carries a total of SAR 6.1 million in prizes, making it one of the standout dates on the festival calendar.

The trophy program features six races, with first-place prizes ranging between SAR 400,000 and SAR 700,000. Across the full schedule, the festival stages 248 races and offers an overall prize pool of more than SAR 50 million.

This edition introduces new elements to the event. Mazayen (beauty) competitions have been added, alongside a newly built 11-kilometer training track in Taif and rehabilitation work carried out on the racing surfaces to improve conditions for participants.

A new Crown Prince Camel Festival Cup, dedicated to Saudi participants only, has also been introduced, carrying a prize of SAR 500,000.

The festival is held at the Taif Camel Racing Track, a venue with a long history in the sport. Camel racing remains a deeply rooted part of heritage in the Kingdom, and events of this scale draw owners, breeders, and spectators from across the region, offering families and enthusiasts a chance to enjoy a traditional sport in a modern, well-organized setting.
