10 Billion Steps Initiative Launches Across Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Sports for All Federation has launched a nationwide fitness initiative called "10 Billion Steps," inviting residents across the Kingdom to walk more and log their daily steps. The initiative began on 29 July 2026 and runs through December 2026, with a collective national goal of reaching 10 billion steps.

Running under the slogan "Don't Count Your Steps. Let Them Count," the initiative encourages everyone to contribute their everyday movement toward one shared national target. Participation is free of charge, with no gym membership or registration fee.

To take part, users join through the Saudi Sports for All Federation mobile application, where they can record their daily steps, track their personal progress, and join related challenges and activities. Steps can be counted automatically by syncing a smartphone or a wearable device with the app.

Why it matters

The initiative offers residents in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and beyond a simple, no-cost way to build healthier daily habits. Because it counts collective steps toward a single national figure, even short walks add up to a bigger goal, making physical activity feel accessible to families, workers and newcomers alike.

The campaign is valid only for its running period, from July through December 2026. Anyone in the Kingdom looking to stay active this year can download the application, join the initiative, and begin recording their steps.
