The Ministry of Health is calling on parents to complete the mandatory school fitness screening for new first-grade primary students before enrollment. The requirement also applies to newly admitted early-childhood students in the relevant enrollment cycle, and the screening is carried out at Ministry of Health primary healthcare centers.
Appointments are booked through the Sehhaty application. After logging in, parents go to the Appointments section, choose Book an Appointment, select a primary healthcare center, pick the Family Medicine Clinic, choose a date, and confirm the booking.
On the day of the visit, the parent must accompany the student to the center. Required documents include the student's Saudi family ID or residence permit, along with the original vaccination certificate.
What the screening covers
The examination includes a review of the student's medical and family history, verification of vaccinations, and a clinical examination. It also measures height, weight and BMI, and checks eyesight, hearing, speech, and oral and dental health. Results are recorded in the Ministry of Health's health system, and students are directed or referred for follow-up when needed.
Once completed, the parent receives the screening result — including the medical history — to submit to the school. No fee is stated in the available Ministry of Health information, and no separate government procedure is required beyond booking through Sehhaty.
For families preparing for the new school year, completing the screening early helps ensure a smooth enrollment process and gives parents a clear picture of their child's health before classes begin.
