Jeddah Islamic Port Adds New Shipping Services

Jeddah Islamic Port has launched a series of new container shipping services during 2025 and 2026, strengthening its links to markets across Asia, Europe, the United States and the Middle East and boosting the Kingdom's maritime trade.

The new lines are operated by several major carriers. In 2026, the port added the AE19 service enhancing connections with key Asian and global ports, along with the RGS and RS2 services linking Jeddah to Indian ports such as Nhava Sheva and Mundra, as well as Djibouti, Berbera, China, Singapore, Ain Sokhna and Aqaba, with capacities of around 1,800 and 12,000 TEUs respectively.

Additional 2026 services include the SGX line connecting Jeddah directly with Shanghai, Nansha, Malaysia and Ain Sokhna using vessels up to 2,452 TEUs, and the SRS service linking the port with Djibouti and Mundra with capacity up to 2,144 TEUs. A new transatlantic service now connects Jeddah with US ports including Charleston, Savannah, Houston, Norfolk and Newark, alongside Tangier, Salalah and Indian ports, with capacity up to 7,000 TEUs. A "South India Sri Lanka" service also calls at Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdullah Port.

Earlier additions included the Med Express (MEDEX) service launched in 2025, linking Jeddah to 12 ports across Europe, Asia and the Middle East with vessels up to 10,000 TEUs, the IM2 service connecting Jeddah with Mundra, Alexandria and Mersin, and the JSS service.

The expansion means faster, more frequent connections for importers and exporters, wider access to global markets, and improved supply-chain reliability — supporting the flow of goods that residents and businesses across the Kingdom rely on every day.
