The Azka Farmers Market at Hayy Jameel arts and culture center in north Jeddah is putting Saudi dates and local producers in the spotlight, offering families an evening destination built around homegrown food and community activities. Entry is free of charge for all ages.
Running as a family-friendly market, the current "Dates Edition" brings together farms and producers from across the Kingdom under the Hayy Markets initiative. Editions typically take place over two or three days — usually Thursday to Saturday or Friday to Saturday in the evening — with opening hours generally from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm or 11:00 pm.
The upcoming September 2026 Dates Edition is scheduled for 3 September 2026 from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm, with the dates-focused programme running through 4–5 September 2026.
What visitors can find
The market gathers more than 80 participants, including over 30 farms alongside a range of local entities. Beyond a wide selection of Saudi date varieties, stalls offer fruits, vegetables, herbs, honey, coffee, dairy products, bread, grains, and organic, seasonal and eco-conscious goods. Prices are set directly by vendors at their stalls and vary by variety and producer, so visitors pay only for what they buy.
Alongside shopping, the market often features interactive talks with producers, children's workshops and community events, making it a practical outing for residents who want fresh local produce and a chance to meet the people who grow it. With free entry and no pre-registration for general visitors, it offers an accessible way for Jeddah families to explore the diversity of Saudi farming in one place.
