Jeddah Tenders $60M Rain Drainage Network Project

Jeddah Municipality has opened bidding for a new stormwater drainage network in the Prince Fawaz neighborhood, in a project valued at about USD 60 million (roughly SAR 225–230 million). The tender aims to reduce flood risk across residential streets and low-lying areas of the neighborhood.

the project involves building a rainwater drainage network to collect and carry runoff away from homes and streets. Work includes installing manholes, stormwater catch basins, connections to existing manholes, and restoring road surfaces once the network is complete.

The tender is listed as "Implementing Rainwater Drainage Solutions in Prince Fawaz Neighborhood (project 20977)" and appeared among current Saudi government tenders in mid-August 2026. The deadline for submitting bids is set for 12 October.

The project forms part of Jeddah's broader rainwater drainage program. As of the second quarter of 2026, 19 projects were ongoing and 20 had been completed, together adding up to more than 795,220 linear meters of drainage networks executed across the city.

Who can bid

Participation is limited to qualified contractors licensed for the relevant work categories, including ground-drainage, drainage works, and drain-laying, and meeting technical and financial prequalification requirements. Bids are submitted through the national e-procurement platform for government tenders, the official channel for publishing notices, filing proposals, and tracking tender status.

For residents, the project matters because heavy rainfall has historically caused flooding in several Jeddah districts. Expanding the drainage network is intended to make streets safer and reduce disruption to daily life during the rainy season.
