Khalid Al-Falih Named Minister of State

Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih has been appointed Minister of State and member of the Council of Ministers in Saudi Arabia. The appointment came by royal decree issued on 12 February 2026, under which he was relieved of his previous role as Minister of Investment and immediately named to the new cabinet-level position.

In the same cabinet reshuffle, Fahd bin Abduljalil bin Ali Al-Saif was appointed Minister of Investment, succeeding Al-Falih at the head of the ministry.

The role of Minister of State and member of the Council of Ministers is a senior cabinet-level position that does not carry a specific ministry portfolio, while the holder retains full membership in the Council of Ministers. This allows the appointee to contribute to cabinet decision-making without being tied to a single ministry.
