Kings League MENA Names Al-Fayez, Returns to Riyadh

Kings League MENA has appointed Wael Al-Fayez as its managing director in September 2026, as the competition prepares for its return to Riyadh with the region's first full-length season.

Split 1 will run from 18 September to 30 October 2026 at Cool Arena, Riyadh Boulevard, Riyadh. The season marks the region's first full-length Kings League MENA campaign, with the format expanding to 10 teams.

Saudi Arabia will be represented by three teams: DR7, RA2, and Rising Peaks. The appointment of a dedicated managing director signals a step up in the organisation and long-term planning behind the competition in the region.

Why it matters

For residents in Riyadh, the extended season means several weeks of live sports entertainment at a central Boulevard venue, offering families and fans a regular calendar of matches over more than a month. The presence of three home teams adds a strong local flavour for Saudi audiences following the fast-paced format.

The move also reflects the growing appetite for varied sports experiences in the capital, adding to Riyadh's expanding roster of entertainment and competitive events.
