New Donation Portfolio Launched to Boost Green Cover

The National Greening Program and the Ehsan donation platform have launched the first donation portfolio for the Arabian Cement Company to support vegetation-development projects under the Saudi Green Initiative, in an announcement made in August 2026.

The new portfolio is designed to channel donations through nonprofit organizations toward afforestation and vegetation-cover projects across Saudi Arabia. It gives donors a direct way to contribute to environmental restoration efforts nationwide.

The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification said it is working alongside Ehsan and donors to expand donation portfolios dedicated to vegetation-development work, opening the door for more contributors to take part in greening the Kingdom.

Why it matters

The National Greening Program falls under the Saudi Green Initiative, whose overarching goal remains planting 10 billion trees across Saudi Arabia and rehabilitating degraded land. In 2026, the program said it had already reached a milestone of rehabilitating 1 million hectares.

For residents and communities in Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond, expanding vegetation cover means cleaner air, improved land quality, and progress toward a greener living environment. The new donation portfolio offers individuals and organizations a practical channel to support these long-term environmental goals.
