Charter prices for private jets departing Saudi Arabia climbed by more than 50% in October 2026, after disruption at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh affected commercial flights and pushed some travelers toward private aviation and alternative departure points.
With flights from Riyadh disrupted, some passengers shifted north to Al-Qassim Airport, located more than 320 kilometres from the capital. One 14-seat Bombardier Global 6000 flight from Al-Qassim to Geneva was quoted at €94,000, compared with roughly €60,000 before the disruption.
Charter quotations from Saudi Arabia to Europe reached as high as US$150,000, while flights to the United Arab Emirates were priced between US$30,000 and US$50,000. These figures are charter quotations arranged by private operators, not standard passenger-ticket prices.
Why prices moved
Private-jet fares are commercial and have no fixed government rate. Prices vary route, insurance, airport access, and the operator involved. When demand rises quickly and aircraft are limited, quotations can increase sharply over a short period.
For most residents and travelers, regular commercial tickets remain the standard option, and the figures above apply only to the private-charter market. There is no official government booking process, standard validity period, or fixed price in Saudi Riyal for these charters. Travelers considering alternative departure airports should confirm flight availability and timing directly with operators before making plans.
