Saudi Arabia has been officially confirmed by FIFA as the host of the 2034 FIFA World Cup, marking the first time the Kingdom will stage the men's tournament. The event is planned as a 48-team competition played across 15 stadiums in five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha and NEOM.
Riyadh will carry the largest share of matches with eight venues. Chief among them is the new King Salman International Stadium, designed with a capacity of 92,760 and set to host both the opening match and the final. Other Riyadh venues include the renovated King Fahd Sports City Stadium (~70,200), South Riyadh Stadium (47,060), Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium at Qiddiya (46,979), Prince Faisal bin Fahd Sports City Stadium (46,865), King Saud University Stadium (46,319), New Murabba Stadium (46,010) and ROSHN Stadium (46,000).
Jeddah will feature four stadiums: the renovated King Abdullah Sports City Stadium (62,345), Qiddiya Coast Stadium (46,096), Jeddah Central Development Stadium (45,794) and King Abdullah Economic City Stadium (45,700). Al Khobar will be represented by the new Aramco Stadium (46,096), while Abha's King Khalid University Stadium (45,428) will host after renovation, and NEOM Stadium (46,010) completes the list.
All 15 venues are planned as new builds or major redevelopments to meet FIFA's world-class standards. For residents and expats across the Kingdom, the tournament signals years of stadium construction, transport upgrades and hospitality growth, with cities set to welcome fans and visitors from around the world.
