Saudi Arabia will be represented by 144 athletes competing across 19 disciplines at the 20th Asian Games Aichi‑Nagoya 2026, set to take place in Nagoya, Japan, from 19 September to 4 October 2026. This marks the Kingdom's 12th participation in the continental multi‑sport event.
The delegation, organized by the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, represents 19 national teams. Selection was based on clear performance benchmarks: athletes ranked among the top eight in Asia in individual events, and teams ranked among the top four in Asia in team events.
The competition program spans a wide range of sports, including athletics, 5×5 basketball, boxing, equestrian, esports, fencing, football, jiu‑jitsu, judo, karate, mixed martial arts, padel, shooting, squash, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, weightlifting, and wrestling.
Priority sports and preparation
The committee has identified several priority sports with strong podium potential, among them athletics, judo, taekwondo, karate, jujitsu, swimming, weightlifting, shooting, equestrian, fencing, and wrestling. To support these targets, a centralized training camp program has been established ahead of the Games, concentrating on the priority disciplines.
For the community across Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond, the Games offer another opportunity to follow homegrown talent on a major Asian stage, reflecting the continued growth of sport in the Kingdom and the wide variety of disciplines now backed at the national level.
