Saudi Arabia issued a series of royal orders on 13 August 2026 reconstituting the Council of Ministers under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with existing ministers continuing in their posts. The orders also named new chairmen for two key economic bodies.
Under the changes, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Energy, was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority. He succeeds Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, who was relieved of the position.
In addition, Mazen bin Turki Al-Sudairi was appointed Chairman of the Capital Market Authority with the rank of minister, replacing Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Quwaiz, who was relieved of the post.
What it means for residents
The changes were implemented by royal orders published in the official Umm Al-Qura gazette and concern leadership positions only. They do not introduce new public service fees, electronic-service procedures, or validity periods for platforms such as أبشر, مقيم, قوى, ناجز, نفاذ, توكلنا, or Etimad.
As of late August 2026, the royal orders contain no changes to exact ريال سعودي fees, citizen or resident procedural steps, or validity periods for local content or capital market transactions. Operational platforms and channels for general government services remain as previously established.
