Saudi Contractors Win $2.6bn in July Projects

Saudi contractors were awarded 11 new projects in July 2026 with a combined value of more than 9.75 billion SAR (about $2.6 billion), covering building and construction, infrastructure, water and energy — a fresh sign of steady momentum across the Kingdom's construction sector.

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City was the largest project owner by contract value during the month, awarding around 2.79 billion SAR in new work. With July's additions, project awards for 2026 reached 97 contracts worth more than 111.3 billion SAR, reflecting continued expansion of the pipeline tied to رؤية السعودية 2030 developments.

The July figures follow a strong June 2026, which recorded the highest monthly awards of the year at 25 projects worth roughly 29.5 billion SAR. Activity remained concentrated in building and construction, with much of the work spread across the Eastern Province, الرياض and Makkah regions.

Sector momentum continues

Tracking data for July 2026 showed 4,809 active projects, of which 2,297 were under construction — about 12% more than in June — while 908 projects were in active tender stages, pointing to strong ongoing procurement. By mid-2026, the total projects pipeline was estimated at around $2.07 trillion, up roughly 9% year-on-year, with about $342 billion already under construction.

Construction activity expanded for a third consecutive month in July, with new orders reaching a five-month high and the sector's headline index at 55.2 — a reading that signals continued growth. For residents and businesses, the sustained pace of awards means more jobs, new infrastructure and continued development across the Kingdom's major cities.
