Sela, ICON Saudi Plan Jeddah Luxury Yacht Facility

Two companies, Sela and ICON Saudi, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in September 2026 to develop a specialized facility for maintaining luxury yachts in Jeddah,

The planned facility aims to build local technical capabilities, transfer international expertise, and offer major yacht-maintenance services closer to Red Sea operating areas. The project is intended to complement Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina and marine-tourism developments at destinations that include AMAALA and Shura Island.

At this stage, the agreement is a cooperation framework only. No construction timetable, investment value, facility capacity, opening date, service menu, or customer pricing has been announced. Likewise, no maintenance fees, booking prices, or licensing charges have been made public, and the validity period of the MoU has not been disclosed. No customer application process or specific government-permit channel has been specified for the project.

For residents and marine-tourism enthusiasts along the Red Sea coast, the initiative points to a growing local ecosystem for yachting services. Bringing maintenance capabilities closer to operating areas could reduce the need to send vessels abroad for major servicing and support skills development in the sector.

Separately, the Red Sea Yacht Show is planned for 14–17 October 2027 at Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina. This event is not connected to the proposed maintenance facility. Saudi Living will share further details on the facility as they are officially announced.
