Ehsan Becomes Independent Nonprofit Foundation

A royal order issued on 20 August 2026 has transformed the National Platform for Charitable Work “Ehsan” into an independent nonprofit organization named the Ehsan Foundation for Charitable Work. The move is aimed at strengthening charitable activity across the Kingdom and raising the efficiency of the wider non-profit sector.

The Foundation is set to connect donors with beneficiaries by offering diverse donation opportunities, enabling both individuals and companies to give, and coordinating with government and private entities to develop the sector. It will continue to build on Ehsan’s existing services, support nonprofit programs and donation platforms, and help maintain the technical infrastructure used for charitable and development work.

A Board of Trustees has been formed by royal order, chaired by Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce, with Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, as deputy chair. Board membership runs for a renewable three-year term and includes senior officials and figures from the charitable and endowment sectors.

Why it matters

Since its launch, the Ehsan platform has processed more than 113 million transactions and channeled about SR6 billion in donations, covering sectors such as education, welfare, healthcare, food security, housing and religious support. In 2025 alone, the platform raised around SR4.5 billion. A related Ehsan Endowment Fund holds over SR2 billion in total donations, supports more than 2,400 associations nationwide, and has recorded investment returns exceeding SR48 million.

Donors can continue to give through the Ehsan website (ehsan.sa), the mobile application, designated bank accounts for specific campaigns, or by contacting the donor service center on the unified number 8001247000. All contributions remain voluntary charitable payments.
