Maintenance and landscaping works are underway along the northern stretch of the Jeddah Corniche, aimed at improving traffic flow and upgrading public spaces for residents and visitors. The project covers the waterfront area running from Sari Street in the north to the Border Guard headquarters in the south.
The works include replacing damaged granite tiles, renovating the irrigation network, and planting new green areas along the seafront. Crews are also installing traffic bumpers and carrying out restoration work on the seawall to protect the coastline.
In addition to structural upgrades, the project involves maintenance of lighting systems, fountains, children's games, and pedestrian walkways. These improvements are designed to make the Corniche safer and more comfortable for families, walkers, and daily visitors.
Why it matters
The Jeddah Corniche is one of the city's most popular gathering spots, drawing large numbers of residents and tourists throughout the week. Ongoing upkeep of its green spaces, walkways, and public facilities helps keep the seafront attractive and functional for the community.
By focusing on both traffic improvements and the quality of shared public areas, the works aim to enhance the overall experience along the coast while preserving the waterfront for long-term use.
