A memorandum of understanding was signed on 25 September 2026 between Sela and ICON Saudi to develop a specialized facility for maintaining luxury yachts in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The agreement marks an early step toward expanding marine services along the Red Sea coast.
Under the memorandum, the planned facility would provide yacht maintenance services while working to build local technical capabilities and transfer international expertise to the Saudi market. The project is intended to complement the offering at Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina.
The facility is also envisioned to support the wider growth of marine tourism along the Red Sea, including destinations such as AMAALA and Shura Island, positioning Jeddah as a hub for high-end yachting services in the region.
What has not been announced
At this stage, the facility is planned and has not been confirmed as operational. The memorandum does not set out a construction timetable, investment value, capacity, or opening date. No customer procedures or operating fees have been announced, and no prices in Saudi Riyal or maintenance fees have been disclosed.
No application process through any government platform has been announced, and no validity period for the memorandum or for customer service permissions has been specified.
For residents and visitors interested in the Kingdom's growing marine and tourism sector, the agreement signals continued interest in developing specialized services along the Red Sea. Saudi Living will share further details as they become available.
