Manar Al Omran has announced a SR1.2 billion industrial development in the Eastern Province, on the Dammam–Jubail–Dhahran corridor, that aims to expand Saudi-made scaffolding into global markets. The MAO Industrial Complex spans roughly one million square metres and is designed to move the company from a scaffolding rental and service provider to a fully automated, vertically integrated manufacturer.
At the heart of the project is a 750,000 m² scaffolding and steel complex with a daily output of 1,200 metric tons, which the company says makes it the largest single-site scaffolding factory in the world by daily production. The complex houses eight integrated production facilities, including the Kingdom's only certified Ringlock scaffolding line, along with tube, Cuplock, engineered formwork and structural steel plants, plus shot blasting, powder coating, hot-dip galvanizing and in-house maintenance units.
The wider development comprises five main production factories, a flagship corporate head office and a residential community for about 7,000 employees. Products will be manufactured in steel, cast iron, aluminium extrusion and casting, and polymer materials, serving construction, energy and petrochemical, and infrastructure sectors.
Why it matters
The company plans to export 40% of total output, with a stated focus on the United States and other global markets, while also supplying Saudi giga-projects and large national energy and infrastructure programmes. Current Saudization stands above 60%, with plans to raise it further. The complex also incorporates advanced manufacturing solutions developed with major Saudi industrial partners to reduce its carbon footprint and strengthen local supply-chain integration.
For residents and the wider community, the project signals continued growth in domestic industrial capacity and job creation in the Eastern Province, reinforcing the Kingdom's drive to build homegrown manufacturing with an eye on international trade.
