A free education program backed by the Public Investment Fund has launched an enhanced online learning platform for young people, expanding its reach among students in Riyadh and Jeddah. The upgraded Driving Force Presented by PIF platform went live in August 2026, building on an earlier version introduced globally in 2025.
The program targets learners aged 8 to 18 with content focused on science, technology, engineering, mathematics, sustainability, and the future of mobility — including electric racing and the GEN4 Formula E car. It is offered at no cost, with no fees charged to students, parents, or schools for the online platform or school workshops.
In Saudi Arabia, the program has already reached more than 4,500 students through in-person workshops in Riyadh and Jeddah, alongside teacher-led classroom content. Globally, Driving Force has engaged 111,200 young people across more than 1,100 schools in Saudi Arabia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
Three ways to learn
The updated platform delivers content in three main ways: live school workshops in cities including Riyadh and Jeddah, ready-to-use teacher lesson plans and classroom resources, and anytime, anywhere online learning through the digital platform. Students access interactive challenges, quizzes, games, and rewards designed to make STEM subjects more engaging.
The platform is available in Arabic and English, with localized content on sustainability and mobility relevant to the Kingdom. No government platforms — such as أبشر, مقيم, قوى, ناجز, نفاذ, or توكلنا — are required to use the service, and parents can browse tailored content without registering through e-government portals. For educators, workshops are arranged in coordination with participating schools.
The expansion supports growing local interest in STEM education and future careers, giving Saudi families and teachers an accessible, free resource to nurture the next generation's interest in science and technology.
