Riyadh will host the 8th TAFISA World Sport for All Games from 29 September to 5 October 2028, in what will be the first time the event is held in the Middle East and North Africa region.
The Games will be organized by the Saudi Sports for All Federation, bringing together more than 1,000 participants from over 100 countries. Organizers also expect around 70,000 visitors over the course of the week-long event.
Why it matters
The TAFISA World Sport for All Games focus on grassroots and recreational sport rather than elite competition, promoting physical activity and traditional games for people of all ages and backgrounds. Hosting the event in Riyadh places the capital at the center of a global gathering dedicated to community sport and healthy living.
For residents and expats across the Kingdom, the Games are expected to offer a wide range of participatory activities and cultural exchange, reflecting the growing role of sport in daily life. The 2028 edition marks a notable milestone as the first time the region welcomes this international event.
Further details on participation, ticketing, schedules, registration, and visitor arrangements have not yet been announced. Saudi Living will share verified updates as official information becomes available closer to the event.
