Saudi researcher Dr. Shaza Mohammed Abo’Ouf has been selected as an international triathlon judge for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan, becoming the only Saudi representative among 24 international judges chosen for the sport.
Abo’Ouf was nominated by the Saudi Triathlon Federation for the appointment. The triathlon events were held in Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture, on September 20–21, 2026, placing her among a select international panel officiating at one of Asia's largest multi-sport gatherings.
Her professional background spans therapeutic and sports nutrition, quality-of-life programs, and holistic wellness — a mix of expertise that supports her role in a sport that combines swimming, cycling, and running under demanding conditions.
Why it matters
The appointment marks another step in the growing presence of Saudi professionals in international sports officiating, particularly women taking on technical and judging roles on the global stage. For the community, it reflects the widening opportunities in sport, health, and wellness careers across the Kingdom, and highlights the value of Saudi expertise being recognized at major international competitions.
