Superheroes Back to School Run at ROSHN Waterfront

Families and runners in Jeddah can mark their calendars for the Superheroes Back to School Run, a costume-themed community fun run taking place at ROSHN Waterfront in the Ash Shati district on Friday, 14 August 2026. The event kicks off at 5:00 PM along the seafront promenade on the Red Sea coast.

The run offers three categories to suit all ages. A 2 km Kids Run is open to children under 13, while a 2 km Family Run and a 5 km race are available for participants aged 13 and above. Age limits apply strictly to each category, with the Kids Run reserved only for under-13 runners.

Registration fees are set at SAR 45 for the 2 km Kids Run and SAR 85 for participants aged 13 and above in both the 2 km Family Fun Run and the 5 km race. Sign-up is handled online through the Masafat event platform. Each paid registration package typically includes a timing chip, a bib number, and a finisher's certificate.

A community event with an anime twist

The event is built around a playful theme, encouraging runners to show up in anime and superhero costumes or cosplay-style outfits. Alongside the races, families can enjoy activities throughout the evening, with a 5:00 PM start and multiple race waves spread over several hours.

Participation is open to both residents and visitors who complete registration and pay the fee. No residency, visa, or special permits are required beyond standard access to ROSHN Waterfront, making it an easy and inclusive way for Jeddah's community to welcome the new school year with movement, color, and fun.
