The dates market in Al-Mithnab Governorate, in the Qassim Region, opened in mid-August 2026 with more than 50 date producers from local farms taking part, offering visitors and traders a wide selection of homegrown varieties at the height of the harvest season.
The market puts the spotlight on local Qassim varieties, above all the famed Sukkary Al-Qassim and its various grades — including royal (fakhari), muftal, galaxy, rutab, qishr and munasif. Buyers can find a spread of prices to match different needs.
Typical wholesale prices this season include Sukkary royal (fakhari) at around 150 SAR Sukkary muftal No. 1 at about 80 SAR and muftal No. 2 at about 45 SAR while Sukkary “Galaxy” runs around 60 SAR By the kilogram, Sukkary rutab is priced at roughly 17 SAR, with qishr and munasif at around 10 SAR each.
The market operates as a municipal farmers' market, with stall allocation and producer participation managed by the Municipality of Al-Mithnab Governorate under Qassim Region Municipality through local channels. Producers register for temporary stalls under the seasonal festival framework, and terms are set locally.
What visitors should know
Entry to the market area is free of charge, with spending limited to purchasing dates and related products at negotiated prices. Like other central Qassim markets, trading typically runs daily from around sunrise until before noon during the peak harvest, with some evening activity. Peak trading is expected to continue through August and September 2026.
For residents across the Kingdom, the market is a chance to buy quality Qassim dates directly at seasonal prices while supporting local farmers during the region's most important agricultural season.
