Lenovo to Start Riyadh Factory Production in Late 2026

Lenovo has confirmed plans to begin large-scale commercial production in late 2026 at a new manufacturing facility in Riyadh, producing laptops, desktop computers, data servers, and Motorola smartphones. The plant is located within the Special Integrated Logistics Zone, part of Riyadh Integrated near King Khalid International Airport, roughly 15 minutes from the airport.

The facility spans about 200,000 square meters and is designed to be Lenovo's largest factory outside China. It is also described as the first site globally to produce all four product categories — PCs, desktops, servers, and smartphones — under one roof. Trial and non-commercial batches of some devices were already produced during 2026, with the first full commercial batch and the start of exports set for later in the year.

Investment and capacity

Phase 1 investment exceeds SAR 2 billion. The plant targets an initial annual capacity of 2 million units within around one-and-a-half to two years of ramp-up, with a planned second phase capacity of up to 8 million units annually, depending on local and regional demand.

The Riyadh facility will produce high-end Motorola smartphones, a wide range of laptops from high-performance to economy models, desktop computers, and high-compute servers aimed at artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure projects in the Kingdom. Products will carry "Saudi Made" branding and serve markets across Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa.

The project is linked to Lenovo's Middle East, Türkiye and Africa Regional Headquarters, officially opened in Riyadh at Majdoul Tower in 2026, and integrated with a planned research and development center, a customer experience center, and talent programs. As of early September 2026, specific retail or factory prices for the Saudi-made devices had not been announced.
