Riyadh Global Sports Tower: Final Offers Submitted

Contractors bidding to build the planned Global Sports Tower in Riyadh have submitted their final commercial offers, marking a key step toward construction of one of the capital's most anticipated sports developments. The submissions were made in early July 2026 for the project located in the Athletics District of Sports Boulevard.

The tower is planned to rise 130 metres and offer around 84,000 square metres of gross floor area, housing more than 30 sports facilities under one roof. The overall project value has been reported at about US$530 million.

The move follows a series of milestones for the development. An operating partner to run the facility was appointed in May 2026, while the deadline for the main construction package tender was previously set at 30 September 2025. With final commercial offers now on the table, the project advances closer to the contractor selection stage.

Why it matters

Sports Boulevard is one of Riyadh's flagship lifestyle and mobility projects, designed to link communities with green space, cycling and walking routes, and recreational venues across the city. A dedicated sports tower of this scale would give residents and visitors a large concentrated hub for training, competition, and everyday fitness.

For the community, the development points to expanding options for organised sport and active living in the capital. As the project progresses through the tender process, further details on facilities, timelines, and opening are expected to follow.
