Saudi Arabia Names 144 Athletes for Asian Games 2026

Saudi Arabia is set to compete with a delegation of 144 athletes at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, taking part across 19 different sports. The continental multi-sport event is scheduled to run from 19 September to 4 October 2026 in Nagoya, Japan.

The size and spread of the delegation reflect the Kingdom's growing presence in regional and international sport, with athletes representing a wide range of disciplines at one of Asia's largest sporting gatherings.

As part of its preparations, the Saudi team arranged a training camp in Fuji, Japan, scheduled from 29 August to 3 October 2026. Holding the camp inside the host country allows athletes to acclimatise to local conditions, timing, and facilities ahead of and during the competition period.

Why it matters

The Asian Games bring together thousands of athletes from across the continent, offering Saudi competitors a high-level stage to test their form against strong regional rivals. For residents and sports fans in the Kingdom, the participation of 144 athletes across 19 sports promises a busy schedule of events to follow throughout late September and early October 2026.

With the Games running for just over two weeks, followers of Saudi sport can look forward to tracking the delegation's results across a broad program of disciplines in Nagoya.
