More than 6,300 Saudi men and women volunteered with the Ministry of Sports to serve pilgrims during Hajj 2026, delivering a wide range of services across the holy sites.
A total of 6,348 volunteers provided more than 160 services through 78 volunteer opportunities. The initiative reached a broad base of pilgrims, with more than 247,000 people benefiting from the services offered.
Volunteer efforts added up to over 31,000 hours of work, supervised on the ground by 14 field coordinators who organized the teams and ensured services were delivered smoothly throughout the Hajj season.
Supporting pilgrims with disabilities
As part of its contribution this season, the Ministry of Sports also enabled 40 athletes with disabilities and special needs to perform Hajj, highlighting an ongoing focus on inclusion within the Kingdom's volunteer and community programs.
For residents and visitors across Saudi Arabia, initiatives like this reflect the growing role of organized volunteering in supporting one of the world's largest annual gatherings. They also open the door for more members of the community — both Saudis and long-term residents — to take part in service efforts that make the Hajj experience easier for millions of guests.
