Jeddah Advances Old Zahraa Stormwater Drainage

Amanat Jeddah is moving forward with stormwater drainage works in the Old Zahraa area (Zone BC, 20357), after publishing new public infrastructure tender packages covering ground-drainage, drainage works, plumbing and drain-laying for rainwater and stormwater.

The first package, covering Old Zahraa, was published on 23 June 2026, with a bid submission deadline of 1 July 2026. The tender is listed on the national Etimad government procurement platform, with bids submitted to Amanat Jeddah through Etimad and as specified in the tender documents. The tender documentation fee is listed at 1,000 SAR, which is the price of the tender documents rather than the project value.

A second, comparable package covering the New Zahraa area (Zone BC, 20339) for ground-drainage, drainage works and drain-laying was published on 1 July 2026, with a bid submission deadline of 7 July 2026. It carries the same documentation fee of 1,000 SAR and is also managed through Etimad.

Part of a wider Jeddah drainage programme

The Old Zahraa package forms part of a broader municipal stormwater drainage programme in Jeddah that includes major tunnel works along King Abdullah Road and Falasteen Road, in addition to other stormwater tunnels. A separate tunnel tender at the King Abdullah–Falasteen intersection lists a competition document fee of 1,000 SAR, a contract duration of 36 months, and a requirement for an initial bid guarantee, with technical and financial files submitted separately through Amanat Jeddah and Etimad.

Stormwater contracts in Jeddah's programme are currently run as general competition tenders, with bidders classified and managed via Etimad and municipal procurement channels. For residents, the works aim to strengthen the city's rainwater drainage capacity and reduce flooding risk in the affected neighbourhoods.
