Leejam Sports Company and SURJ Sports Investment signed a memorandum of understanding on 30 July 2025 to explore cooperation across the development of sports and fitness in Saudi Arabia. The agreement is a framework for potential collaboration rather than a disclosed final investment or binding operating contract.
The memorandum covers six areas: stadium and fitness-facility operations; co-investment in sports properties; sponsorship and brand engagement; community activation and mass participation; data and technology integration; and content and media production.
Under the framework, Leejam may assess operating or supporting fitness and wellness zones inside SURJ-backed facilities, and may take part in programs linked to SURJ-backed events and leagues. The two parties may also explore co-investment in sports intellectual property, make use of Leejam's nationwide Fitness Time network for SURJ activations, and jointly host grassroots fitness programs.
Why it matters
For residents and fitness enthusiasts, the memorandum points to a possible expansion of fitness and wellness offerings tied to major sporting venues, events and community programs across the Kingdom. It aligns with the broader push to grow mass participation in sport and healthy lifestyles.
No fees in Saudi Riyal, membership prices, investment amount, payment schedule, validity period or completion deadline has been publicly disclosed for the memorandum. There is also no confirmed timeline turning the agreement into a binding transaction, nor any announcement of specific venues, prices or operating dates at this stage.
