Riyadh Marathon 2026 Tops 50,000 Participants

More than 50,000 runners took part in the 2026 Riyadh Marathon, held on 31 January 2026 at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh. All race categories were sold out ahead of the event.

The marathon offered four distances to suit a wide range of abilities. The 5 km race was open to all ages with an entry fee of SAR 62, while the 10 km race was open to participants aged 17 and older at SAR 85. The half marathon was available to runners aged 18 and older for SAR 119, and the full marathon to those aged 20 and older for SAR 149.

Registration was completed through the official Riyadh Marathon website. On race day, participants needed to present an identification document together with the QR code sent in their confirmation email. Organizers noted that no refunds were available after a cancellation.

Ahead of the races, a free marathon festival ran from 28 to 30 January 2026 at Princess Nourah University, giving the wider community a chance to join the atmosphere without taking part in the competitive events.

The strong turnout reflects the growing popularity of distance running in the capital and the appeal of large community sports events for residents and expats alike. With every category selling out, the 2026 edition underlines how such gatherings continue to encourage an active lifestyle across the city.
